Besides showcasing works from local arts graduates, we have also invited institutions and art graduates abroad to take part in this exhibition to reach an international level. A lot of companies are currently branding themselves as ‘young and energetic’ to generate more creativity and business opportunities. As to enhance art graduates’ understanding of the significance of creative thinking in the society and inspire local fresh graduates before they enter into the job market, various seminars will be held during the exhibition by inviting entrepreneurs and world-famous designers to share their experience. I hope to create this new platform for Macau to coordinate with the local talent development, so as to assist in discovering future paths for young people, and broaden their horizon and creative ability.”

Mr. Mann Lao, Creative Director of Chiii Design and Curator of “Y Show”, expressed, “As the very first art graduates exhibition held in Macau, ‘Y Show’ represents the freshness, energy, and idea collision towards Macau Design industry. As one of the curator of the exhibition, I hope ‘Y Show’ will not only be a platform for designers to communicate, but also offers great inspiration to design students and professors. At the same time it is a great chance for designers and merchants to interact. All in all, it builds up a better design environment and promotes better quality design in Macau. For the design students and professors, technical development should never be one-sided. One of the purposes of this exhibition is to compare and explore the design standard between Macau and overseas. It is always important for students to absorb and learn the trendiest creative ideas from all over the world. Students, especially the local students, should proactively take the responsibility for the future of Macau design environment and pay more attention on learning modern design techniques and skills in order to expand their vision, as well as to express themselves without using the old-fashioned approach. Moreover, this exhibition enables different commercial enterprises to have a different vision on the nurturing role of the market towards the development on the design industry. We can also understand the difference of regional design development. A good design is not only about decoration and style; it is about productivity. At the same time, it is the symbol of success to a company. Last but not least, it should always be aware of the mutual relationship between design and its market, since whether the design is recognized and accepted by the market and the audience is always the first consideration.”
