(27th November 2016 – Macau) Organised by SOCIL Cultural Development and Management Company Limited (“SOCIL Cultural”) and co-organised by Poly Auction, the Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” held an Award Ceremony for “Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award” on 27th November at the Regency Art Hotel Macau as a perfect way to conclude the fair. Government officials and celebrities were invited to the Award Ceremony, including Ms. Leong Lai, Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (“DSEJ”); Mr. Leong Heng Teng, President of the Administrative Council of the Cultural Industries Fund; Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, Deputy Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office; Ms. Angela Leong On Kei, Vice President of Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation; Mr. Ng Vai Hong, Head of Secondary and Vocational Technical Education of DSEJ; Mr. Kong Ngai, Head of Division of the Continuing Education of DSEJ; Mr. Chan Kai Chon, Principle Advisory Senior Technician of DSEJ; Ms. Chiang Sao Meng, Director of Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society; Ms. Chau Wai I, Director of Fuhong Society of Macau; and Ms. Sabrina Ho Chiu Yeng, one of the Founders of SOCIL Cultural to witness the announcement of the award winners of the “Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award”. The award winners are: Mr. Lai Chiu-Chen from Lin & Lin Gallery of Taiwan; Ms. Yang Yang from MEBOSPACE of Mainland China; Mr. Tang Kuok Hou, independent artist from Macau, individually received MOP20,000 cash prize from Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation as a support for their future development and to encourage future creation.
The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” is generously supported by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR by presenting art works of young artists in Macau, and donating all the sales income of the art works to Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society and Fuhong Society of Macau to support local charities. Ms. Chiang Sao Meng, Director of Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society, and Ms. Chau Wai I, Director of Fuhong Society of Macau, were invited to the award ceremony for the cheque presentation.
The four-day hotel art fair attracted 39 galleries and art organisation, 60 artists from a total of seven countries and regions – Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, Myanmar, and Malaysia – to bring their best selected art works. Local and overseas art organisations and galleries, and celebrities were also drawn to the fair, providing direct sales opportunities for the artists. The Second “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” attracted over 2,000 visitors.
The fair also had the pleasure to host visits from numerous local schools, including Xin Hua Eveing Secondary School, Millennium Secondary School, Hou Kong Middle School, Kwong Tai Middle School Macau, and Xin Hua Middle School with the objective to raise their awareness of local cultural arts, and to nurture students’ interest in cultural arts creation.
Ms. Sabrina Ho Chiu Yeng, one of the Founders of SOCIL Cultural, stated, “The 60 local and overseas artists brought their best selected art works to the ‘6075’ this time, approximately 500 pieces of art works have been sold out. Some of the art organisations had sold out all their art works, making the second ‘6075’ a remarkable event. I hope the upcoming ‘6075’ will continue to provide more opportunities for young artists, and bring more art works for art enthusiasts, as to promote the diversified development of the cultural arts industry in Macau.”
