The Third “Y Show” X “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” Successfully Held Support the diversified development of Macau culture and build a dream workshop for the new generation

(14th October, 2018 – Macau) The third “Y Show” organised by Chiu Yeng Cultural and Creative Industry Association (“Chiu Yeng Culture”) and co-organised by Chiii Design Ltd. (“Chiii Design”), the third “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” organised by Chiu Yeng Culture and co-organised by Poly Auction Macau Limited, held the Award Ceremony at Regency Art Hotel on 14th October. I of Bank of China Macau Branch; Ms. Priscilla Leong, Deputy General Manager of Corporate Banking Department I of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited; Mr. Fernando Kam, Executive Director of Padaria New Mario; Mr. Billy Choi, Chief Executive Officer of Ying Hai Group; Ms. Sure Zou, Chief Operation Officer of Let’s Go MACAO; Mr. Simon Lee, General Sales Manager of Polytrade Paper Corporation Limited; Ms. Hou Yanan, Chief Operating Officer of Poly Auction Macau Limited; Mr. Mario Ho, together with Ms. Sabrina Ho Chiu Yeng, President of Chiu Yeng Cultural and Creative Industry Association; Mr. Mann Lao, Creative Director of Chiii Design, Ms. Hou Yanan; Chief Operating Officer of Poly Auction Macau Limited, were invited to witness the announcement of the Outstanding Award winners, Sponsorship Award winners and Innovative Entrepreneurship Award winner of the third “Y Show”, and the Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award winners of the third “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair”.

 

Ms. Sabrina Ho Chiu Yeng, President of Chiu Yeng Cultural and Creative Industry Association, Founder of “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair”, commented that the two events, “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” were a great success and she appreciated the huge support and participation from the community. She added that the third “Y Show” has promoted design and commercial integration through the introduction of entrepreneurship activities, which matches the market demand and provides a decent platform and opportunity for young people who are interested in starting business. In addition, the enterprise tour gave fresh graduates an opportunity to have a direct communication with companies to increase employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the Main Sector and Special Project Sector of the “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” have also been a remarkable success. Galleries and artists from around the world showcased their art pieces and interacted with each other, thereby creating a unique experience for the audience while broadening the locals’ vision and appreciation towards art. Ms. Ho stated that Chiu Yeng Culture will continue to organise diversified arts and cultural activities in the future and will strive to develop the “Y Show” and the “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” into a symbol of creativity for the new generation.

 

Create new milestones for young design talents and artists
The third “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” have established awards to encourage and support young design talents and artists, the winners of the Outstanding Award of “Y Show” are (in no particular order): Lin Tzu Yu of University of Macau; Wu Jun of Macao Polytechnic Institute; Cheang Ka U of Macao Polytechnic Institute; Choi Man Tak of University of Saint Joseph; Wong Sut Ian of University of Saint Joseph; Chen Xu Man, Ma Rui, Mason, Zhao Yuan of City Univeristy of Macau; Queenie He of City Univeristy of Macau; Du Bo En of Shantou University; Yang Ling of Central Academy of Fine Arts; Mai Nagaoka of Kuwasawa Design School.

 

The third “Y Show” continues to establish the Sponsorship Award. 13 sponsors each presented the Sponsorship Award to the best art work of their choice as a recognition and support to the students. The winners of the Sponsorship Award of “Y Show” are (in no particular order): Kuok Cheng I of Macao Polytechnic Institute; Liang Yi Yin of Macao Polytechnic Institute; Yang Xin, Nie Hai Wen, Chen Qiao, Wen Xin of Macau University of Science and Technology; Gan Liao, Gavin Guo, Arno Liu, Sun Yi Xin of Macau University of Science and Technology; Aria of Macau University of Science and Technology; Zheng Liang, Guo Ming Zhu, Wu Lei, Lv Hao Zheng of Macau University of Science and Technology; Carrie Wong, Peggy Li, Woody Li, Cheong Un Ian of Macau University of Science and Technology; Ana Isabel Mariano do Rosá rio of University of Saint Joseph; Chen Hai Ning of City Univeristy of Macau; Yang Yi Sheng of City Univeristy of Macau; Chan Chun Yin of Federation of Hong Kong Industries & Design Council of Hong Kong; Li Teng, Deng Xiao Fu, Lan Chi Long Shi of China Academy of Art; Timm Hartmann of Berlin University of the Arts.

 

In addition, enterprises had took part in the voting of “Innovative Entrepreneurship Award” and the award winner will be honored with an opportunity to be paired with an enterprise and produce a commercial product to promote design and commercial integration. The winner of the Innovative Entrepreneurship Award of “Y Show” is Carrie Wong, Peggy Li, Woody Li, Cheong Un Ian of Macau University of Science and Technology.

 

Meanwhile, the third “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” continues to award the “Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award” to select potential young artists with outstanding performance as a support for their future development and to encourage future creation. The winners of “Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation Art Award” of “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” are: Chang Chiaying from My Humble House Art Gallery of Taiwan; Chishi Morimura from Hwas Gallery of Mainland China; Ieong Man Pan, independent artist from Macau, individually received MOP20,000 cash prize from Dr. Stanley Ho Foundation as a support for their future development and creation.

 

In order to provide an effective platform for enterprises to explore outstanding creative talents and artists of Macau, the third “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” gained support and participation from over a hundred enterprises, from local and neighbouring areas. At the same time, the third “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” received support from several local schools and associations to raise the local students’ awareness of creative design and art, so as to cultivate the development of creative and artistic talents in the future.

 

An effective showcase platform was provided for the design graduates and young artists by holding the two exhibitions, “Y Show” and “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” simultaneously. “Y Show” bringing together five local universities and institutes and nine overseas exhibitors to present a total of 100 pieces of art works. Meanwhile, “6075 Macau Hotel Art Fair” attracted 18 galleries and 11 independent artists. Local and overseas art organisations and galleries, and celebrities were drawn to the fair, providing direct sales opportunities for the artists. The four-day of these two events attracted over 4,000 visitors.
